2008 08/09 Awarded with the prestigious White Flag Award for Excellence by the Institute of Leisure and Amenity Management (ILAM) Awarded by the Laois Chamber at the Excellence in Local Government awards for the array of services offered to its local stakeholders and customers. Also in 2008 Portlaoise Leisure Centre was the winner of the Best Recreational Facility at the LAMA awards
